Cat Glass Sun Catcher

Cat Glass Sun Catcher

This glass sun catcher was a Custom Order.  It was more of a challenge for me to make, because I don’t draw or paint.  I found a template that I liked and adjusted it till I was satisfied with it.  I used pale amber for the base of the cat and then used medium amber frit medium sized for the fur and, of course, white for the paws.  A couple of holes were drilled after I took this picture and then I put beads on the wire for the hanger.

The gentleman who wanted a cat glass sun catcher is very pleased with it, which makes it all so worthwhile!

Dichroic Strips Fused to a White Wispy Glass

Dichroic Strips Fused to a White Wispy Glass

We are back from the first weekend of the Christmas Bazaar.  The second weekend starts this Friday.  We did pretty well this last weekend.  We met a lot of nice people and talked about our glass art with some of them.

This is one of the glass pendants I recently made for the Bazaar.  I cut very thin strips of various colors of dichroic glass and fused them to some white wispy glass from Bullseye.  My original thought was to make the strips horizontal, but then I started playing and decided that I liked the dichroic glass strips at different angles.

Red and Black Glass Plate

Red and Black Glass Plate

Dave made this gorgeous glass plate.  Don’t you just love the design?

Well, we are going to Portland, Oregon tomorrow to the Christmas Bazaar at the Expo.  We will be gone for five days, but maybe I can get some WiFi and post some blogs while we are there.

Wish us a Great Show!

Wine Bottle Spoon Rest/Appetizer Dish

Wine Bottle Spoon Rest/Appetizer Dish

I have started to decorate my wine bottle spoon rests, even including an appetizer knife.   This gives a much better presentation and is a great gift for friends or family for the holidays.   It would also make a great host/hostess gift.

The sides of the bottle are raised up to form a nice sized dish.  You can use if for so many things, like an appetizer dip, cheese and crackers, olives, carrots and celery and so much more…

My husband stole one of these to put misc. things in when he comes in the door from work.

I don’t have any on my website right now, because I have been so busy making them.  So, if you would like one, let me know and we can work out the details.

Glass Tile with Dichroic Pieces

Square Glass Tile with Dichroic Pieces

This was a fun project!  Whenever I would get a small piece of dichroic glass, I would add it to the kiln when I was doing a full fuse with other glass pendants.  This would round off the small dichroic glass.  After awhile, I finally collected enough small pieces and was inspired to fuse some to a square piece of clear glass.   Actually, my plan was to fuse two layers separately with dichroic glass pieces on each one and then fuse the two together.

This is the result!  I like the 3D effect of having some of the dichroic pieces in the middle.  I think I will expand on this idea and make a larger plate.  Wow!  That would require a lot of dichroic 🙂

Anyone want to donate their scrap pieces of dichroic glass, 90?  Whoever sends me some scrap dichroic glass 90 will be entered into a drawing to win the plate that I will make with all the scrap dichroic glass!!  Hey, that sounds like a lot of fun!  What do you think?  Let me know if you want to send me some!

Magenta Dichroic Glass Pendant

Magenta Dichroic Glass Pendant

The bright magenta dichroic of this glass pendant is on clear glass.   I love how the dichroic looks kind of “wrinkly.”  It is hard to tell, but the dichroic is on a piece of clear glass with an accordian texture.  It looks much better in your hand or even around your neck 🙂

White and Turquoise Glass Plate

White Wispy Glass Plate

I bought this yummy piece of white wispy Bullseye 90 Glass a few months ago.  I was planning on making pendants with it, which I have done.  However, I wanted to make a larger piece to show off the wispy white throughout the glass.

Previously, I was experimenting with turquoise glass squares and black glass stringers and frit.  They came out very cool, but what was I going to do with them?   Well, some projects need to sit around and wait until it speaks to me (they don’t really speak to me).   I added an interesting design element in the opposite corners that mimic the turquoise squares.

So, what do you think?  Do you like it?  What are your thoughts about this glass plate?  I’d love to hear from you!
