Red Fused Glass Bowl

Red Glass Bowl

This fused glass bowl is a custom order I made for a good friend from the UK.  She saw another fused glass bowl where I used the same mold and she fell in love with it right away.

The glass is a new line of glass from Spectrum 96 called Crystal Art and the color of this one is red.  This particular glass is slightly transparent.

This fused glass bowl is going to be the centerpiece of my friend’s dining room table.  The color matches some of her other things in her dining room.  I just sent her a picture of it and I hope she likes it.

    Hi Christine,
Beautiful bowl! I love the soft colors. What mold number and size is it? Also, did you cut the glass as a circle before slumping (or is it draping???). Single glass or layered with clear? Sorry for the questions but it is gorgeous and I would love to try to make one too!

    Hi Sue,

    Thanks for the compliment!

I have been unable to find this mold anywhere. If anyone knows where to get one, let me know!!

I need to borrow the mold from my local art glass supplier. I have thought about making a copy of it, but haven’t gotten around to it.

It is a drape mold and I cut a circle 10″ in diameter. It is a single layer of glass, because it is slightly translucent.

The glass is 96 Spectrum — Crystal Art Red — one of their new colors.

    Thanks,

    Christine
