Green Fused Glass Coasters

Fused Glass Coasters

Fused Glass Coaster

These fused glass coasters are the first green ones I made.  I used green translucent glass for the bottom and a crackle iridescent for the top.  The crackle glass is really cool.  It is made by fusing clear confetti glass to a clear glass.  Confetti glass is very thin glass.  Each fused glass coaster is unique, because of the crackle design.  Some glass coasters have a lot of confetti pieces and some have a little.  It is a fun glass to use to design fused glass coasters and other glass projects.

Strings of Color Between White Fused Glass Plate

White Fused Glass Plate

White Fused Glass Plate

For this fused glass plate, I cut a strip of clear glass and added various colors of glass stringers, which are very thin, and glued each one to the clear glass at even intervals.  After that, I fused the stringers to the clear glass.  Meanwhile, I cut out two pieces of white glass to go on either side of the clear strip with stringers.  I also cut a 12″ square piece of clear glass the size of the entire fused glass plate.

I assembled all the different pieces and fused them together.  To get the shape of the fused glass plate, I slumped the glass into a mold.

There are a lot of steps to this fused glass plate, but it was worth it.
