Red Glass Basket Weave Vase

Red Fused Glass Basket Weave Vase

I’ve made fused glass basket weave vases similar to this one, using black and red iridized glass, and blue and orange OpalArt glass, etc.  I made a much larger red iridized glass, using 12 inch by 1/2 inch strips, but I had trouble getting it off the ceramic cone mold and ended up breaking a couple of end pieces off.  I gave it to my mother-in-law and she is thoroughly enjoying it.

For this fused glass vase, I used 9 inch by 1/2 inch strips and used my stainless steel cone mold.  The glass vase lifts right off the stainless steel cone molds.  I love these molds, because I don’t have to use thin fire shelf paper and any vase lifts right off.  I wish they made these stainless steel molds in taller sizes 🙂

Lilac Glass Candle Holder

Fused Glass Candle Holder

I had fun making this glass candle holder.  I used a violet iridized glass for the borders.  I bought this glass a few months ago and I finally got a chance to use it.  I also fused black glass stringers to a piece of clear for the middle part of this glass candle holder.
